Sand Castles Review - NODA

This play, set in front of a row of well designed and constructed beach huts, focusses on two families, the Pattersons and the Billets, who soon after arriving at their huts, where they have previously shared many happy holidays, soon find their peace and tranquillity disrupted by various 'invaders' who show a complete disregard for beach protocols and etiquette.

There were strong performances from Martin Tyrrell and Beverley Moore as William and Margaret Patterson. Clive Bourne and Jane Moss, who played Stan and Bernice Billet, also made a fine couple and were accompanied by mother (Mandie Collier - bearing a marked resemblance to a certain Grandma Giles!) and sister Pauline, played by Sam Hunt. Doug (Simon Temple) together with nieces Becky (Laura Coates) and Debs (Abigail Bourne) were interlopers who had rented the adjacent beach hut. Other members of the large cast were impertinent interlopers intent on causing maximum disruption.

This gentle comedy provided entertainment that was much appreciated by the large audience, many of whom, in all probability, recognised similarities from their own holiday experiences! No wonder we often feel that we need another holiday to get over the one we've just had. Well done SADOS.
