Wyrd Sisters

The Wyrd Sisters of the title are three witches: the hard as nails Granny Weatherwax; the young at heart Nanny Ogg and the soppy hippy that is Magrat Garlick. The trio live and do their magic in the small country kingdom of Lancre.

It tells the tale of a murdered king. The land he once governed finds his untimely death so abhorrent that it begins to turn on the usurpers. Sensitive to the cycles of nature and her beasts, the witches must set out to reinstate the proper heir to the throne.

The task takes them on a journey through time and to the sprawling city-state of Ankh-Morpork. Here they discover that the magic of the theatre can be just as potent as the magic of the land. And that sometimes, all you need is a man who can make you laugh...
